The box pictured above is made of raw mdf to save on cost but feel free to use whatever material fits your taste.

It uses inches and feet for measurement. Cut each lettered piece to size. Building the box is fairly simple. Next cut the 1 2 mdf into 6 wide sides and make the 2 long sides 24 and the 2 short sides 19.

First i cut an 18 long 1 1 2 cleat from 3 4 material to go on the side opposite of the dust chute. There were relatively few true plans available for downdraft tables. The idea is to create a dedicated surface for sanding wooden parts and make good use of the space below.
